Awkward half-cat loafing on the stairs sparks Photoshop battle no one expected

The Internet will never tire of the strange beauty of an awkwardly placed cat.

This poor feline who is stuck on the stairs, somewhere between a comfy cat-loaf position and actually being able to stand is a perfect example.

Poor cat.

Fleet Foxes singer gives sweater to a fan who made a Tumblr for it, indie rock lives

Just a load of animals enjoying pancakes because humans are weird

Humans aren’t content with tossing pancakes and eating them in a civilised fashion on Pancake Day. They must also put pancakes on their pets.

Puppies rescued from barn fire, treated with oxygen from pet masks

These two-day-old puppies were pulled from a burning barn on Monday.

LONDON Firefighters were forced to use miniature pet oxygen masks to treat two puppies rescued from a burning barn in Devon, UK, on Monday.

In a post on Facebook, Newton Abbot Fire Station shared photos of the dogs being treated with gel and oxygen after rescue services arrived at the scene in the early afternoon.

Here are some pictures taken by firefighters at the scene.

Firefighters administer oxygen to the puppies.

The masks fit over the puppy’s heads to help them take in the air.

One puppy, which suffered burns, was treated with gel.

There were five puppies in the barn when the fire took hold. Three died at the scene.

The two dogs pictured in the photos above were treated by firefighters and then taken to the vets. Sadly, a spokesperson from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service confirmed to Mashable that one of the rescued puppies has since died.

“They weren’t bad burns but was in a wide area and was just too much for such a little puppy,” the owner of the farm, James Barter, was quoted as saying in the Torquay Herald Express. “I think of myself as fairly tough but I was pretty upset.”

He went on to say that the surviving puppy seems to be doing fine.

“We have named it Blaze in honour of its miraculous survival,” he said.

David Bowie’s son posts Twitter appeal for homeless dog named after his dad

LONDON David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones has made a Twitter appeal on behalf of a homeless dog named after his father.

Bowie is a 3-year-old lurcher a type of dog that’s a cross between a sighthound like a Greyhound and a terrier currently being kept at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Wales, UK. He has one blue eye and one brown. According to a press release sent to Mashable, his condition has caused him to be overlooked.

Meet Bowie, a young lurcher who needs a home.

The story made the news in Wales, and it wasn’t long before it had caught the attention of Jones.

On Thursday, the director posted a series of tweets appealing to people to help Bowie find a home.

David Bowie’s eyes appeared to be a different colour due to a condition called Anisocoria, according to this piece in the Independent, which was caused by an injury that left one pupil permanently dilated.

Its such a shame that Bowie has been overlooked so far, but were confident well find a home for him soon,” Rehoming Centre Manager Angela Wetherall was quoted in a press release sent to Mashable.

Anyone interested in giving Bowie a home can call the Dogs Trust’s Bridgend branch on 0300 303 0292.

Adorable alert: Kylie Jenner has a new puppy

If there was one thing we could count on in 2016, it was that Kylie Jenner’s love for puppies would prevail.

The youngest Jenner already has a slew of dogs running around her home, but she unexpectedly introduced us to what seems to be her newest pup on Snapchat over the weekend.

With no warning whatsoever, and just weeks after her greyhound gave birth to adorable puppies, Kylie presented us all with adorable footage of the pup wandering around the house and sniffing out his new digs.

While we don’t know this dog’s name, it’s hard not to fall in love with this new Jenner right away.

Kylie also filmed him frolicking and try really, really hard to fit in with the rest of the crew.

Dolphin at SeaWorld leaps up to grab woman’s iPad from her hands

This dolphin doesn’t care if you want to stay dry or have a working iPad.

The woman who appeared to be filming or photographing the dolphin quickly retrieved her beloved technology from the pool and went on her way.

Though his iPad destruction got some laughs, the dolphin still had some spunk left in him, so he decided to heavily splash everyone in the surrounding area.

Video of a duck battling a hawk proves that ducks are super birds

If a dog let kittens play with its tail and this rhinos let a goat hang out on its back, then it should come as no surprise that farm animals also have their share of interspecies friendships.

Reddit user JasonsKetoAccount caught footage over the weekend of his pet duck Felix scaring off a hawk who’d attempted to prey on Felix’s chicken friend.

In a comment on his post, JasonKetoAccount writes that when the other birds heard the hawk approaching, they scattered. You can actually see the birds in their cage having a fit when the predator swooped into the yard.

Naturally, the caption “Super Duck” is a fitting one.

Adoptable puppies get even more adoptable when Aubrey Plaza makes up their backstories

Puppies plus late night television is always the recipe for a great video.

On Thursday night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert decided to help some cute puppers out by airing a segment called Rescue Dog Rescue with Aubrey Plaza. The two took turns cradling adoptable puppies and fabricating ridiculous personalities for them so as to make them more attractive to potential owners.

Honestly, we don’t need funny backstories to love these pups. Just one glimpse at their tiny faces will do. But laughing while we awww is always a welcome addition.

Two people from New Zealand were on a boat and they saw this big turtle and filmed it. Good on those two because wow, I would not have believed them if they didn’t have it on camera.

Pippa Partington and her husband Craig spotted the turtle (a leatherback sea turtle, to be exact) off the coast of Mangawhai on December 6.

Oregon pizza shop pays tribute to ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ with 101-cheese pizza

If you’re going to put cheese on a pizza, why stop at one? Why, indeed?

A pizza place in Portland, Oregon, took this pizza-stential question very seriously, deciding they had nothing to lose by totally just going for it. So, as part of an annual Portland celebration of pizza, Scottie’s Pizza Parlor created a pie using 101 cheeses.

The pie is called the Centouno Formaggio, and, according to Scottie Pizza Parlor’s website, it was inspired by the 99-cheese pizza from the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In fact, Australian pizzamaker Johnny di Francesco did create a 99-cheese pizza in real life to prove it could be done. But Scottie’s Pizza Parlor wanted to do one (or, actually two) better.

The pizza’s ingredients include a shredded 55-cheese blend and 36 other soft cheeses, plus a blend of nine grated cheeses. There’s also aged part-skim mozzarella stuffed in the crust.

Wow.

Scottie Riviera told Fox News that they wanted the pizza to taste like a regular cheese pizzaat least initially. With the first bite, you dont know what to expect, so you can almost mistake it for a regular slice,” Riviera said. “Then you chew a little more and you start to get a lot of character here: theres things going on, its almost hard to place.

Alas, the the opportunity to taste-test this groundbreaking pizza is no longer. It was available just for one day.

Scottie’s Pizza Parlor has applied to the Guinness World Records for the distinction of Most Cheeses on a Pizza. While it isn’t certificate-official, pizza lovers everywhere will recognize this feat for what it is amazing.

Cats aren’t the only ones who enjoy a good nap.

In fact, mom Elizabeth Spence posts photos to Instagram of her English Pointer, Nora, who enjoys her daily nap in the cutest way possible cuddled beside Spence’s eight-month-old son, Archie.

Mashable spoke with Spence via email to learn more about the adorably special bond that her son and Nora share.

“We got Nora from Funds For Furry Friends, a local rescue shelter, seven years ago prior to having kids,” Spence said. “Despite having come from an abusive situation, her sweet and gentle nature shone through and we knew with certainty she would be a wonderful family dog when the time came.”

While Nora gets along with Spence’s three kids, three rescue cats and her other two rescue dogs, it’s clear she and Archie are especially close.

Hello, and welcome to your Wednesday afternoon moment of zen.

As you can imagine based on this face, human Biden noticed the puppy right away.

As soon as he saw the dog during the actual speech, he pointed at the dog, tapped his friend and then started like cracking up,” Sydney, Bidens owner, told BuzzFeed News. “Right towards the end, I, like, kind of signaled him, and he… gave me a wink to come over.

As soon as I told him his name was Biden, he started kissing the dog, which is like exactly what I expected Biden would do, Sydney said, noting that “As soon as I told him, his face lit up.

Pet squirrel valiantly defends owner’s stuff when burglar breaks in

It turns out dogs aren’t the only animal that’s fiercely loyal to their humans. This past Monday, the local Idaho ABC news station reported on the town’s new hero: Joey the pet squirrel.

When a burglar broke into owner Adam Pearl’s home, Joey apparently sprang into action, scratching and attacking the intruder. The culprit later told police that Joey bothered him the entire time he was in the house.

Though usually only dogs get the honor of being good boys, we can confidently say that Joey is also a very good boy.

Quit your boring day job and get paid to cuddle cats all day

A Dublin-based veterinary clinic is making that dream a reality as they’re advertising a “cat cuddler” role. It sounds like the best job in the world.

Just Cats veterinary clinic in Clonsilla, Dublin, is looking for a “crazy cat person” who “loves cats”. Among other requirements includes “cattitude” whatever that means. The ideal candidate will have a track record of feeding stray cats in your locality and they’ll feel “warm and fuzzy” when they pet cats.

You’ll also need to have “gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time”. *Better crack out that hand lotion now, eh?!*

You’ll also need to be “softly spoke” and “capable of cat whispering” to calm the nerves of more nervous cats.

There is nothing more relatable than this squirrel eating a hot Cheeto

Squirrels: They’re just like us.

On a sunny afternoon, there’s one snack you can’t help but crave. This squirrel was dying for a mid-day snack, and of course he reached for the nearest hot Cheeto to quell his appetite.

The editing experts on the subreddit r/PhotoshopBattles agree that this squirrel is all of us and naturally they chose to honor him with his own battle.

What’s next for this squirrel after he finishes his spicy snack? Perhaps a few hours of playing Call of Duty or a Star Wars movie marathon. Maybe a nap.

This is the life we all want to lead.

Duke the dog to start third term as mayor of small Minnesota town

Hopefully he has a human chief of staff.

Duke the Great Pyrenees is the only dog that’s ever been elected mayor in America, and he proudly serves the people of Cormorant, a tiny Western Minnesota town with about 1,000 residents. He was just reelected for his third year-long term.

According to WDAY 6, Duke, 9, is nearing the end of his second term. At the 6th Annual Cormorant Daze festival this past weekend, Duke celebrated his inevitable reelection.

Locals say Duke has a high approval rating.

“I don’t know who would run against him,” Karen Nelson told WDAY 6. “He’s done such great things for the community.”

According to Duke’s owner David Rick, the pup was originally elected by accident via write-in votes. Only 12 votes were reportedly cast in that 2014 election.

We have no idea what Duke’s policy initiatives are, or if Cormorant has term limits, but we wish the Mayor and his town well.

Lowe’s hires veteran and his very helpful service dog

Image: GREG JAKLEWICZ/THE ABILENE REPORTER-NEWS VIA AP

A Lowe’s hardware store in Abilene, Texas, is feeling the praise online after hiring a veteran and his service dog.

Air Force veteran Clay Luthy was having difficulty finding a job due to his service dog named Charlotte, who accompanies him at all times. But while other companies were unable to hire Luthy and Charlotte, the hardware store stepped in and offered the two a job.

We were interviewing people for his position and he was one of the applicants. And so he showed up for the interview and he had Charlotte with him, Jay Fellers, a human resource manager at Lowe’s, told KRBC.

Image: GREG JAKLEWICZ/THE ABILENE REPORTER-NEWS VIA AP

Charlotte, a 10-year-old golden retriever, goes to work with Luthy during his shifts, alerts him and helps him stay calm. She also has the ability to help Luthy up, should he fall.
According to Reporter News, Luthy was a C-130 loadmaster in the Air Force until he “blew out” both of his knees. After five surgeries, he is still unable to bend his left knee.

Instead of medications, I have Charlotte, Luthy told KRBC.

Charlotte can be spotted working beside Luthy sporting her very own Lowe’s vest, which has become quite the hit with customers.

Last weekend, customer Judy Dechert Rose posted a photo praising Lowe’s for hiring the two, which has since racked up more than 118,000 likes.

“Everybody loves Charlotte. This definitely was not part of the job description,” Luthy told the Abilene Reporter News.

Image: Greg Jaklewicz/The Abilene Reporter-News via AP

But at 10-years-old, Charlotte’s hard working days are nearing an end. Luthy tells says he has a 6-month-old golden named Lola at home that’s currently training to be Charlotte’s replacement.

As for Charlotte, Luthy says that her “golden” years may be best spent bringing smiles to the faces of people in hospitals.

Cat survives for 2 months under the floor of burned down house

People say cats have nine lives, but we’ll always be shocked by what some cats manage to live through.

Like Ringer, a cat who somehow survived for two months under the floor of a house that had burned down.

Christine Marr, Ringer’s owner, posted about the miraculous rescue on Facebook.

Two months ago, a fire destroyed Marr’s home. While Marr and her dog Chloe were rescued from the flames, Ringer could not be found.

That is, until Marr made a trip back to the spot of her old house with Chloe on Sunday.

“[Chloe] was digging and scratching at the floor,” Marr recalled in her Facebook post, describing how the dog eventually found a hole in the wall. When she heard cat meows coming from the hole, she got some food to lure the cat out.

“And out came Ringer, our cat that we thought perished in the fire,” Marr continued.

According to West Michigan’s local Fox affiliate, emergency personnel were stunned by the discovery and immediately hailed Chloe as a canine hero. Ringer was taken to an animal hospital, where they found he was malnourished and had lost half his body weight.

Were assuming he was eating bugs and spiders and stuff under there, Marr told Fox News.

Marr reported on Facebook that Ringer has a feeding tube in his neck and that the process to reintroduce him to solid food will be slow. But, most importantly, Ringer is expected to make a full recovery.

Brewery gives employees ‘puppy parental leave’ and everyone else major job envy

Image: brewdog

How does spending an entire week playing with a puppy and getting paid for it sound to you? Too good to be true?

We’re here to inform you that there is a company which allows their employees to do that. Yes, that exists.

Companies all over the world have stepped up their game to ensure a high quality of life for their employees by offering all sorts of competitive perks and benefits. But we have found the one company that has every other place beat, hands down, no question.

BrewDog, a brewery based in Scotland, announced on Monday that it would be instituting “Puppy Parental Leave” across their company.

“We know only too well that having a new arrival whether a mewling pup or unsettled rescue dog can be stressful for human and hound both,” BrewDog stated on its website. “So we are becoming the first in our industry to give our staff a working weeks leave on us to help settle a new furry family member into their home.”

If it were possible to give an entire company a hug, we would be doing it to BrewDog right now.

Their announcement also came with this adorable video explaining the policy.

As you may have guessed by the brewery’s name, dogs are an essential part of the identity of BrewDog. Indeed, the brewery was founded by two men and a dog.

“Ever since Bracken, the original Brew Dog, first watched James and Martin mash in batch number one of Punk IPA back in 2007 dogs have been central to our way of life,” the brewery mentions on its site.

BrewDog also encourages its employees to bring their dogs to work. Their main office in Scotland boasts 50 “office dogs.”

How does anyone get any work done there?

While the brewery is headquartered in Scotland, they are planning on opening up another brewery in Columbus, Ohio. And just a reminder, the puppy paid leave policy extends to all employees anywhere.

We’ll just leave their careers page here for you for easy access.

Internet destroys Yelper who writes a bad review because of a bodega cat

Don’t mess with the bodega cats.

Walk into any corner store a.k.a bodega in New York City, and you’ll find a variety of household goods, beer, probably a deli and almost definitely a resident cat. The cats keep the rats and mice away and in return, they get to hang out inside and take naps on the chip shelf.

@georgeferrer

A photo posted by Bodega Cats (@bodegacatsofinstagram) on

Usually New Yorkers tend to ignore that bodega cats may be a health code violation, because most people would prefer to see cats hanging around than rats. But recently, one Yelper decided to break the golden bodega cat rule, and gave S.K. Deli Market in the East Village a 1 star review after noticing her bodega had a cat chilling on a stack of Budweisers. Big mistake.

Reviewer Diana D, who has since deleted her post, claimed she had ordered from the bodega before, but decided to pick up her food instead of getting it delivered. That’s when she noticed the adorable cat protecting its store.

“Besides being allergic, I wonder what the health code say(s) about this?” Diana asked in her review.

Twitter user SynKami took a screen grab of the review and shared it to his followers, harshly calling out Diana for complaining about the bodega cat.

Boy makes puppy watch Youtube tutorials in lieu of obedience school

Four-year-old boy makes his Saint Bernard watch puppy training videos.

Inventive four-year-old Lincoln is training his Saint Bernard by making the puppy watch training videos on YouTube.

But it’s not because Lincoln’s addicted to his iPad: He is allergic to pollen.

Lincoln’s parents gave him the puppy after he was diagnosed with a severe pollen allergy, according to his uncle’s Facebookpost.

The boy’s training plan created a viral photo of the puppy appearing to stare intently at the tablet screen.

Doctors recommended Lincoln stay indoors during allergy season, but the clever kid wouldn’t let this setback steal his joy.

Lincoln “walked out of the doctor’s office as happy as could be and said, ‘This means I can get a puppy,” according to the post.

Lincoln’s hyper reaction to pollen.

Lincoln’s parents encouraged him to watch Youtube videos on how to train his puppy.

The little boy decided that it was best the Saint Barnard watch the videos for himself, according to a Facebook post by his father.

Let’s just hope the puppy doesn’t start binge watching Netflix series.

Japanese artist has hand-embroidered hundreds of cats on shirts

Have you ever wanted to carry your cat in your pocket all day in a not-weird way?

Japanese artist Hiroko Kubota‘s archives of custom-made shirts feature hundreds of different cats emerging from pockets via meticulous embroidery.

According to Spoon & Tamago, Kutoba started making the shirts because her son was slim and had trouble fitting into store-bought clothes. She started adding cats to the shirts after her son, a big fan of internet cats, requested it.

When a photo of one of her creations started going viral online, she opened an Etsy shop where she would custom-make orders. On Etsy, the garments reportedly went for up to $300.

Although Kubota no longer makes the customized garments, her book, which features photos of many of her creations, is available on Amazon.

More of Kubota’s artwork is available for view on Flickr, including shirts featuring dogs, Pokmon and more.

7 pets we think the Trump family should adopt

As deliberations over presidential cabinet positions rage on, let’s not forget the very important appointment of a “First Dog.” Nearly every U.S. president has had a pet, and although Donald Trump currently doesn’t have one, he reportedly has a deal in the works.

As reported by the The Washington Post, philanthropist Lois Pope, a longtime friend of Trump, has a Goldendoodle puppy she is convinced Trump will take to the White House. Trump reportedly told Pope, “Barron will want him” over the Thanksgiving holiday, but the decision is not yet final, according to a Trump spokesperson.

In case the Goldendoodle doesn’t get hired, we came up with a few suggestions for the First Pet in Trump’s America. All are adoptable animals from Petfinder and would settle into the Oval Office nicely.

1. Mamba the python

Image: Petfinder

After a long day of yelling nonsense at foreign leaders, Trump will probably want to curl up with a smooth, comforting critter. Well Donald, look no further than Mamba the python, who lives on a diet of frozen/thawed rodents. And in case Trump doesn’t want to call him Mamba, we think Steve Bannon Jr. would make a great name.

2. Tip Top Emperor the horse

Image: Petfinder

Even though Trump will have the privilege of riding around in Cadillac One and Air Force One during his presidency, there will be times when he wants a simpler mode of transportation and Tip Top Emperor could be the perfect horse for the job. Not only does his name imply that he’s a leader, but according to his Petfinder profile, he “enjoys attention.” If that’s not something Trump can relate to, then we don’t know what is.

3. Harley the goat

Image: Petfinder

Because some Americans have been equating Trump with the devil, he might get along well with a horned animal. Harley the goat’s Petfinder profile says, “One of his favorite things to do is to people-watch from his grassy pasture.” Since Trump has a history of objectifying women, we figure he and Harley could people-watch together!

4. Blue the cow

Image: Petfinder

According to his Petfinder page, “Blues gentle manners often make him a favorite with visitors and staff alike.” Trump has a pretty harsh demeanor, so maybe this kind, well-mannered cow could balance him out. However, Trump would never let his pet have the name Blue the color of the Democratic party. Lil’ Sean Hannity has a nice ring to it, though.

5. Splash the pig

Image: Petfinder

After a 3 a.m. Twitter rant, Trump will need someone to cuddle with when he returns to bed. Since Melania won’t be moving to the White House right away, Splash the pig might be the perfect candidate! Splash is a 700-pound pig who loves a belly rub and playing in the mud.

6. Phoenix the albino ferret

Image: Petfinder

Trump has zero background in politics so he may need some help brushing up on his U.S. state capitals. Phoenix the albino ferret is sure to help him remember the capital of Arizona (Arizona is a state on the West Coast, Donald). Plus, her white fur will likely please the president-elect’s chief strategist, alt-right icon Steve Bannon.

7. Bob the lizard

Image: Petfinder

“This is Bob. Bob is old and crotchety. Bob hates you,” reads this sweet lizard’s bio on Petfinder. Bob would be the perfect reptile for Trump to hang with on a Saturday night. That way, when Saturday Night Live comes on and Trump is contemplating tweeting something mean, Bob will encourage him to go through with it.

No matter which pet Trump goes with, let’s just hope that he has a well-equipped animal caregiver on his staff.

Damn, you guys gotta get a look at this turtle.

Two people from New Zealand were on a boat and they saw this big turtle and filmed it. Good on those two because wow, I would not have believed them if they didn’t have it on camera.

I mean, hell yeah at the size of this thing. Throw some wheels on this guy and you’ve got a Toyota Camry, you know what I mean? You could eat a Thanksgiving dinner with your whole family on the back of this guy.

Pippa Partington and her husband Craig spotted the turtle (a leatherback sea turtle, to be exact) off the coast of Mangawhai on December 6.

Hello, and welcome to your Wednesday afternoon moment of zen.

Former vice president and presidential-level heartthrob Joe Biden (don’t @ us) met a 4-month-old Golden Retriever named Biden and for a moment, the entire world stopped spinning, and everything was right again.

Biden, the world’s most adorable dog, made an early trip to the Capitol on Wednesday in hopes of catching a glimpse of the former VP – there to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

I named the dog Biden just because he is probably my favorite politician and favorite elected official, Sydney revealed.

Quit your boring day job and get paid to cuddle cats all day

Image: Shutterstock / Liliya Kulianionak

Imagine a world where you could spend your days cuddling adorable fluffy kittens.

That’s not all you’ll need, though…

You’ll also need to have “gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time”. *Better crack out that hand lotion now, eh?!*

You’ll also need to be “softly spoke” and “capable of cat whispering” to calm the nerves of more nervous cats.

It doesn’t end there, though…..

You’ll also need to possess the rare skill of understanding different types of purring.

And, on top of all that?

You’ll also need a qualification recognised by the veterinary council of Ireland.

Wannabe cat cuddlers can apply by sending CVs and cover letters to miaow@justcats.ie.

Good luck.

Nora the rescue puppy loves napping with her baby brother

“I noticed a strong bond growing between Nora and Archie when Archie was about four months old and so I began photographing their daily interactions, like squirrel watching, and the supervised communal naps they take together,” said Spence.

Fleet Foxes singer gives sweater to a fan who made a Tumblr for it, indie rock lives

This story begins, of course, in the Pacific Northwest.

Five years ago, a Fleet Foxes fan did what every high schooler did in 2011 and created a single topic tumblr devoted to something she really likes. That happened to be a cozy sweater belonging to the band’s lead singer, Robin Pecknold.

Now, thanks to the powers of the internet and the impeding Autumn winds, she owns that sweater.

Fuck Yeah Robin Pecknold’s Sweater was born the same year of the Fleet Foxes’ Helplessness Blues. The blog pays tribute to the musician’s oatmeal sweater featuring a crimson, tan and gray geometric design that, for a time, he was quite fond of wearing.

Hmu

A photo posted by Robin Pecknold (@robinpecknold) on

As time marched on, Pecknold’s sweater stayed out of the public eye, but FYRPS prevailed, sharing fan art devoted to the sweater and even a nice picture of Drake wearing a similar design.

Four months ago, Pecknold answered a question about the famed sweater in a Reddit AMA, explaining that he hadn’t been wearing it, but it traveled with him though various moves over the years.

The sweater blogger, the sweater and the sweater owner were finally able to arrange a new home for the iconic piece of indie rock memorabilia. Pecknold shipped it off to its cozy new home, and come winter, it will be swallowed in her coat.

@georgeferrer

Twitter promptly erupted, and the tweet has racked up more than 7,800 retweets at the time of writing.

S.K. Deli Market’s Yelp page was flooded with positive reviews on Wednesday, supporting both the deli and cat, who’s name is Ciao Bella, according to one Yelper.

According to a piece published in the New York Times about the controversy over bodega cats, fines could cost the bodega $300 to $2,000. However, a fine for rodent feces found in a store can also land a bodega with a $300 fine.

“Its hard for bodega owners because theyre not supposed to have a cat, but theyre also not supposed to have rats, Jos Fernndez, the president of the Bodega Association of the United States, told the New York Times.

No matter which pet Trump goes with, let’s just hope that he has a well-equipped animal caregiver on his staff.

Time to get cooking!

It’s scarfin’ time!

Thanks to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Cookbook a collection of gnarly recipes inspired by the unique culinary preferences of everyone’s favorite crime-fighting turtles you too can now get a taste of what it’s like to live your worst life.

Okay, that’s a bit harsh. There are some delicious-sounding classics, but the book includes a few seriously radical recipes that sound as though they might not be intended for human consumption.

From pizzas to desserts, we surveyed the 65 TMNT-inspired creations to find the worst of the worst, and without a doubt we’ve concluded the gnarliest pizza concoction is none other than the very confusing Chocolate-Chili Pepper Pizza with Butternut Squash.

Blech.

Now in case the thought of chocolate combined with peppers and butternut squash didn’t send you sprinting to embrace your extra-large bottle of Tums, we’re here to enlighten you on a few other ingredients.

Interesting…

To make this pizza even more appetizing, the recipe calls for two tablespoons of smooth, natural PEANUT BUTTER, a handful of corn tortilla chips, and a quarter cup of SOUR CREAM. Help.

If that doesn’t appeal, adventurous eaters can also try recipes like the Deep-Dish Goulash Pizza, the Total Tuna Meltdown, or Pepperoni and Sweet Pickle Pie. Good luck.

Despite these creations, the book isn’t all that terrifying. The author, Peggy Paul Casella, is also the creator of ThursdayNightPizza.com, so she knows how to make a pretty good pie.

There are some rockin’ desserts too, including a sweet s’mores pizza, and the Old School section features more traditional recipes like pepperoni or four-cheese. And despite the name, the snacks featured in the “Masked Mutations” section of the book also seem like a safe bet. We promise.

The book can be purchased on Amazon for about $20, so call up your Leonardos, Raphaels, Donatellos, and Michelangelos, and start cooking. Cowabunga!

Put down the pug: This is why you shouldn’t buy flat-faced dogs

LONDON Veterinarians are urging people not to purchase certain breeds of dogs including pugs, bulldogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and shih-tzus.

Breeds such as these are called brachycephalic dogs, and a range of health problems are associated with their characteristic “flat faces”.

The problems arise from the distinctive shape of the dogs’ muzzle, head, and throat, which can make it difficult for the animals to breathe. Surgical procedures are often needed to remove obstructive tissues in order to clear the major airway passages.

French bulldogs are one of several breeds known as brachycephalic dogs.

Six different dog rescue companies told the BBC that dogs with squashed faces have been turning up in droves at shelters, including Battersea Dogs Home and Bluecross Animal Rescue, which reported receiving a total of 314 “flat-faced” dogs in 2015.

Sean Wensley, President of the British Veterinary Association (BVA), said in a quote sent to Mashable, “The surge in popularity of these dogs has increased animal suffering and resulted in unwell pets for owners.

“We strongly encourage people to think about choosing a healthier breed or crossbreed instead.

In 2015, the UK Pet Owners Association’s list of the top 10 most popular breeds in Britain included three brachycephalic dogs: the French bulldog, pugs, and bulldogs.

Because the dogs seem to be en vogue, puppy farms and substandard breeders perpetuate the problem by trying to meet the demand for the flat-faced dogs.

So perhaps for the health of the dogs it’s best to think twice before picking up that cute pug.
