Proud Mama Dachshund Poses For Photos With Her Six Adorable Puppies

Photographer Belinda Sol helps new moms celebrate their bundles of joy every day, so when a woman named Mona called her to schedule a photo shoot, she didn’t think anything of it.

But Mona had something a little different in mind.

Solwas surprised, when she returned Mona’s call, that Mona wasn’t planning the shoot for herself, but for her dog, a dachshund named Mia!

It wouldn’t be the first time someone has committed their dog’s pregnancy and motherhood to memory. In Brazil, a dog named Lilica became a star after her human posted joyous, adorable photos of her before and after giving birth to a litter of five.

“I had never done [a dog shoot] before, and I was excited to do so,” Solsays, and she accepted the challenge immediately, even purchasing a dress and some props for Mia’s shoot.

The shoot went well, and although Solonly expected a moderate response, she soon found over 100,000 people fawning over the adorable shots. And that meant only one thing: that a newborn shoot was a must!

Check out Sol’sprecious photos below!

When photographer Belinda Sol initially got the call from dachshund Mia’s human, Mona, she was expecting a human maternity shoot.

But that wasn’t exactly the case. The shoot was for Mia! And the proud dad, of course.

“[I] treated it as any other human maternity session,” Solsays. “I went and made her a maternity dress, purchased some props specially for her, and made our appointment.”

Although this was her first non-human maternity shoot, it was surprisingly easy.

Mia was heavily pregnant at the time, so she wasn’t scampering around too much. “She was very well trained,” Solsays, “so it wasn’t too difficult to direct and pose her.”

Solstyled and shot Mia the same way she shoots her human clients, with lots of elegant, billowing fabric and a sweet, feminine air.

When she posted the photos, Solexpected a few people to react, but for it to make a relatively small splash.

Instead, thousands of people flocked to the photos, leaving positive comments.

So that meant that Mia would have another shoot when the puppies were born!

Soon enough, Mia gave birth to six tiny babiesof her own and Solwas there to capture the joy.

She even had crocheted caps custom-made for them, thanks to Crochet Creations by Rebecca Monroe, which are just perfect.

And it really doesn’t get much better than tiny weenie puppies in tiny hats, does it?

Like her maternity shoots, Solcaptured the puppies in much the same way she captures human babies on camera, with lots of swaddles, cuddling, and of course, the tiny caps.

The puppies got some individual beauty shots, too.

As for the puppies, they seemed to nap the whole time (much like their human counterparts) on those fluffy blankets. It seems like everyone involved had a great day!

You can see more of Belinda’s photography, this time with human subjects, on her Facebook page and on Instagram.

And be sure toSHARE these adorable photos with anyone who needs a daily dose of cute!

Collective Aww Heard As Puppy Plays with Baby Squirrel

A collective “Aww” was heard around the world when we all saw this footage!

This cuteness overload started when a family found a tiny, helpless baby squirrel in their backyard. After realizing that her mother had abandoned him, or that the mother had died after a tree fell in their yard, the family carefully nursed the tiny creature back to health, and even aptly named it “Squirrel. Squirrel was in very bad shape when this family found him, but is now healthy and happy!

In fact, Squirrel is sohappy that he fearlessly frolics with the familys Yellow Lab puppy, Millie!

Just watch how these two get along! And it even seems that Squirrel has a little advantage over Millie. She is very protective of Squirrel, watching over him as he sleeps. It really looks like these two precious animals love one another, and will continue to be friends for a very long time after Squirrel is released back into the wild. This puppy-squirrel friendship definitely reminds us of this adorable sleeping pair, or this maternal cat who cared for an orphaned squirrel.

Were so happy for these two, and hope that Squirrel fully recovers soon! And we know that with Millies help she will.

Wild Foxtail Plant Presents Hidden Dangers For Dogs

For dog owners, summer is an exciting and fulfilling time.

You can finally give the pooch in your life all those long, carefree walks that you couldnt deliver on over the winter. From now until fall, its just romps through fields and endless games of fetch, as far as the eye can see.

But hold on for one quick second.

Before you go about living out your summer vacation dreams with your best buddy at your side, its important to be aware of some of the dangers that can befall dogsin the warmer months.

Youve probably already tackled fleas and ticks, and you may have even perused our handy guide to protecting pooches from some of the obvious perils of the summertime.

But theres still one more threat that all pet parents should know about and, boy, is it a doozy.

Its a plant colloquially known as foxtail, and it might be a big threat to your pets safety if you dont know what to look out for.

Scroll through below to learn all about this nefarious weed, what makes it dangerous, and how you can protect your pup.

Click

Foxtail is a deceptively soft and pretty plant at first glance.

Named for its distinctive spike of seeds, its a wild grass that grows in abundance anywhere west of the Mississippi.

Now, this fast-moving grass is also spreading up and down the East Coast, bringing a new hazard to people who may not be familiar with it.

The danger of foxtail lies in the spikey head, which is designed to help the grass disperse its seeds efficiently and thoroughly.

Unfortunately, whats advantageous for the plant can be very dangerous for Fido.

Thats because the spike that helps the seeds burrow into the earth is, in fact, quite lethally sharp.

As a result, the spiky seeds of the foxtail can actually penetrate skin, fur, or paw-pads.

The small, sharp seeds can also be inhaled by a pup sniffing an interesting scent, or licked in an attempt to soothe a sore spot.

Thats where the danger for dogs really takes hold.

These viciously sharp seeds can introduce infection and create sores when they penetrate the skin or fur.

Once they work their way more deeply into the dogs body, they can wreak infinitely more damage.

They can travel through the sinuses into the brain, or work their way down through the internal organs; causing damage, spreading infection, and in some cases, causing death.

Part of that is because of the shape of the seeds.

Many foxtails seeds have a sharp, penetrating point, and then an array of barbs on the stem that prevent the seed from moving backward.

That means that it can be particularly hard for your dog to get rid of the irritation on her own, and other measures, like sneezing, may not be able to dislodge the spurs.

Dogs with long ears might be especially vulnerable.

But before you get too scared, take a breath. You can protect your dog from foxtail, just by being your vigilant self.

Keep your dog from walking or running through any stands of brushy, feathery grass.

Brush and check your pooch thoroughly for any burrs in her coat when you get home, and double-down if your pup has long or fluffy fur.

If she starts to hack or sneeze repeatedly, take her straight to the vet.

Protect the dogs in your life by reading further about foxtails on WebMD, and dont forget to SHARE this lifesaving information with fellow dog lovers!

Loving Dog Owner Creates A Beautiful Dog Bed All By Hand

Sometimes, it seems like our pets will sleep anywhere.

While it may appear thatdogs prefer sleeping on the floor just as much as a soft luxurious cushion, we choose to believe that they feel particularly pampered when they get to sleep in their own cozy beds like this little dog’s princess pallet.

One creative Instructables crafter decided to test this by building the newest member of their family, Chase, his own handmade dog bed to help him settle into his new home.

Using his expert carpentry skills, he created a cozy blue crate complete with a giant snuggly cushion. He evenpersonalized it usinga bone-shaped embellishment with Chase’s name on it.

With all the care and creativity that went into making it, we’re sure that Chase is sleeping soundly in his amazing little bunk.

Check out his process of making Chase his blue dog bed below.

[H/T: Instructables]

Click

First, he started by cutting out the boards to the appropriate sizes.

He cut four corner posts to 7 1/2″ long, front and rear pieces to 23 1/2″ long, and 17 ” long side pieces.

Next, he drilled three pocket holes on each end of sides of the box.

He then used pocket hole screws and wood glue to adhere the sides of the box.

He then measured and cut four pieces to support a plywood base, then cut/inserted the base into the box. Hecovered the screw holes with trim and wood filler.

He crafted the dog bone by cutting the shape out of wood.

He spray-painted it white and used carbon paper, permanent marker, and spray lacquer to make the name.

He painted the bed using blue and gray milk paint and finished it with lacquer.

He then added a soft cushion inside the frame.

All that was left to do was add a happy Chase to the bed!

The project was a bit ambitious, but judging from the look on the cuddly dogs face, it was worth the effort.

Ellen Helps Out A Couple Who Dedicates Their Lives To Saving Dogs

When our pets get sick, there’s not usually a lot we can do besides try our best to help them. But this can be very expensive, and take a financial toll on families who can’t bear to seetheir beloved dog or cat perish. This goldfish owner had so much love for his pet, he paid for surgery to remove his tumor! It’s hard to accept when it’s time for our pets to pass, but sometimes, by miracle, they pull through.

But when their pit bull, Pearl, got sick, they tried everything in their power to cure her, even if it meant accruing huge bills from the vet. Pearl was losing weight rapidly, regardless of how much she was eating, and how much she was being fed.

One vet was able to help Pearl get on her way to recovery, thankfully. But with $16,000 in bills, Jim and Jennifer needed a little help. Jennifer’s students heard about her plight and pitched in to help: with a lemonade stand, they raised $120 for Pearl!

But when the couple appeared onEllen, host Ellen DeGeneres had a special surprise for them, which would surely be one they would never forget.

23 Things We Can Learn From Our Super-Smart And Adorable Pets

Our pets have so much to teach us…

From how to love unconditionally to the right way to enjoy a walk and even some lessons on making new friends (read: everyone can be a new friend), they’re so wise. While some things are best left to their world — *ahem* like smelling butts to become acquainted — there are so many things we can learn from our furry companions.

Here are just a few!

1. We’ve been going down stairs the slowest way for decades.

2. And how about getting a good booty and ab workout going up them? This should do it!

3. We’ve also been using exercise balls all wrong…

4. Speaking of exercise — they really know how to get the most out of a hike.

5. When it comes to enjoying nature, go big or go home.

6. Because bottom line…you can nap anywhere if you get too tired.

7. Then again, a little hesitance is good to employ now and then. The world is pretty big and scary.

8. They know that a selfie is the best way to celebrate new beginnings.

9. “Multitasking is key.” (Seen here: sleeping and hydrating.)

10. “Embrace your enemies. They can become your best friends!”

11. They know that deep down, we’re all the same (and deserve treats).

12. Patience is a virtue.

13. Something as simple as holding a friend’s hand can make your day 100% better.

14. When it comes to relaxation, they know what’s up.

…To each his own?

15. “It’s the simple things in life, guys!”

16. Always embrace your weird.

17. We could all learn to listen a little more.

18. It’s never too late to show someone you love them.

19. Dance like no one is watching.

20. You can get away with almost anything if you flash a smile.

21. If you work together, you can get more done.

22. It’s best to face your fears head-on.

23. But above all, they can teach us everything about loyalty and devotion.

Go home tonight and give your pet a great big hug…they’ve probably taught you way more than you’ll ever realize!

Timid Shelter Dog Realizes Shes A World-Class Surfer

When Mia, a border collie Australian kelpie mix, wandered away from her family in Australia, her life was turned upside down.

She lacked a registration, ID tags, and a microchip, so when she was picked up, there was no way of reuniting her with her family.

Miaspent the next three months in a shelter, alone and confused. She was very shy around the other dogs, so much so that when Juan Medina visited the shelter looking to adopt, he initially passed on her, holding out for an active dog to keep up with his sporty lifestyle.

But at home, Medina couldn’t stop thinking about the timid black-and-white dog.”There was a connection withher,” he says. “Two days later, I went back to see if she was still there.”

And the rest? Well, that’s history. Not only did Mia get a new forever home with Medina, but she also proved that while she was shy in the shelter, she was all about action.

Medina works as a photographer, but he also loves to surf. And it turns out, so does Mia!

Surfing is a weirdly popular activity with dogs, and even some piggies have gotten in on the action, but then again, dogs love to have fun just like their people.

So maybe it’s not so weird, after all. Check out Mia in all her beachy glory below!

[H/T: The Dodo]

When Juan Medina first met Mia in an animal shelter on Australia’s Gold Coast, he wasn’t sure if she was the dog for him.

“She was quiet and shy,” he remembers, “probably because she was in the shelter with other dogs, and she lost her first family.”

But after thinking about Mia nonstop for two days, he realized that the shy pooch was, in fact, the one for him.

And as it turned out, Medina and Mia had more in common than he ever imagined, and Mia was more than happy to show him.

Like most dogs, she loved running in the sand and chasing seagulls, but it turned out that Mia also really loved to swim and surf!

And that was great for Medina and his friends, who spend their free time surfing at their local beach.

It took Mia a few tries to get the hang of surfing. After she fell off the longboard a few times, Medina put a life jacket on her.

Her new buoyancy made her more confidence in the water, and soon she was more than happy to join Medina!

Now, she surfs by day…

…and by night!

“She has very wide eyes when she surfs,” Medina says. “That’s the way she looks when she’s excited. She loves the water and she loves swimming, and she enjoys being with me all the time.”

And because Medina is also a professional photographer, he’s also able to get some truly fantastic shots.

But Mia doesn’t just surf. After her surfing lessons, something clicked, and Mia had soon taught herself to body surf. She was catching waves like a pro, all by herself.

“She does this all on her own,” Medina says. “I throw a stick in the ocean, and she goes after it, and catches a wave back to shore. But she’s a smart dog she also understands both English and Spanish.”

And after that sad stint in the shelter, she’s loving life again thanks to Medina being by her side (even when he’s goofing around and hiding underwater).

And at the end of the day, she can stretch out on the sand.

And she has a warm bed to curl up in at night with a human who loves her.

“I can’t imagine my life without Mia,” Medina says. “She brings happiness and fun to my life, someone to care about it. And I just want to give her love and a happy life. She is the best dog ever.”

You can see more of Mia’s beach adventures on Instagram. They’re great when you need a little vicarious sun!

And be sure toSHARE her great, summery life with your beach bum friends!

Pregnant Pup Saved Hours Before Being Euthanized Delivers Five Healthy Puppies

When we think about all the poor, hungry, and abandoned animals wandering the streets, we wonder why we can’t help all of them. The truth is, many facilities that take care of animals thatwere left to fend for themselves need funds. It’s the lack of funds that unfortunately make vets euthanize these animals.

A homeless dog named Polly was one of the unlucky pups to be scheduled for euthanasia, due to overcrowding in her shelter. But in a twist of fate, the vets at Texas’Vet Ranch saved her in the nick of time. She arrived at the nonprofit, and underwent some tests. An X-ray confirmed that Polly was pregnant! It turns out that instead of saving just one life, they were able to save six.

When everyone left Vet Ranch that night, they had no idea they would arrive to seea pleasant surprise the next morning: Polly safely delivered five healthy puppies! Two weeks after the birth, Mom and her litter were all doing just fine, and living in a foster home. Just a few weeks after that, all of the puppies were ready for their forever homes.

This mama pup’s story of survival is absolutely incredible. She’s quite the fighter!

Program Helps Pets To Visit Their Humans In The Hospital

Donna Jenkins, founder of Zachary’s Paws for Healing, was inspired by her nephew, Zachary Noble. While fighting against Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Zachary wanted nothing more than to see his dogafter undergoing a stem cell transplant.

We sneaked Chase into ICU to see him and the effect it had on Zachary was remarkable. When Zachary realized he was not going to survive his cancer, he made me promise to start the organization. We had our official first patient visit September 15, 2015, Jenkins told BoredPanda in an interview.

Juravinski Hospital immediately came on board, and with no small amount of work, the hospital executives, medical staff, and infection control and volunteer services got the program on its feet.

This is Zachary, the inspiration behind Zachary’s Paws for Healing.

After being in the hospital for many weeks, battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma and receiving a stem cell transplant, his family snuck his dog Chase in to see him. The effect seeing Chase had on his owner was remarkable.

When Zachary realized he wasn’t going to survive, he asked his aunt, Donna Jenkins, to start this incredibleorganization.

On September 15, 2015, Zachary’s Paws for Healing officially began and welcomed its first visitor.

“We know that when patients get to see their pet, it can improve vital signs, improve depression, and the feeling of isolation,” Jenkins told BoredPanda.

Thanks to the program, pet visits to Juravinski Hospital now occur weekly and are typically one hour long.

The animalsare thoroughly cleaned before they’re able to enter the hospital, and they are kept away from other patients as a courtesy.

When a pet visits hisowner in the hospital, it deliversa healthydose of home life for both the patient and the pet.

“It opens communication back up and it is a reminder for a reason for the patient to get well and return home,” Jenkins told BoredPanda.

Thanks to the amazing volunteers at Zachary’s Paws for Healing, this patient was able to be reunited with her horse, Luna.

Even if it was just for a short time, you can see the love and happiness she has for her animal. This visit gave her a reason to fight on.

The visits don’t just benefit the human patient; the pets are always thrilled to see their owners, too!

“The pets are relieved to see them and to know they have not lost their human companion,” Jenkins told BoredPanda.

This is a picture of Cuddles the cat with her owner Grace. You can probablyguess what they did with their time together… cuddled!

It’s easy for a patient to become overwhelmed with a feeling of isolation in a hospital, but every patient has a story.

This man, Mr. David Davies, is a long-term member of the senior retired men’s entertainment group, the Spice Men. They sing and dance in the surrounding areas.

But while in the hospital, Davies was able to immensely benefit from a visit byhis granddog, Ditzy.

Mr. Snels is getting some love and comfort from his pup Bandit after his tests and treatments. Bandit made sure everyone was aware he was there to see his human!

Pets are our chosen family. The volunteers for Zachary’s Paws for Healing are doing amazing workby helpingpatients at Juravinski Hospital to see their companions.

The visits aregood for their health, hearts, and souls, and will continue to provide patients with a sense of normalcy in a difficult time.

You can follow Zachary’s Paws for Healing on Instagramor read all about their patient’s happy reunions on their website.

Puppy Loves To Sit Inside Of An Empty Watermelon While He Eats It All Up!

Summer wouldn’t feel much like summer without cookouts, swimming pools, and the most important fruit of all: watermelon! While we usually expect watermelon to be a fruit that humans love, it turns out that this amazing treat is not only enjoyable to our furry friends, but it’s safe and healthy as well.

It seems like Mom had scooped out the inside of the watermelon earlier for a party, but that didn’t stop this adorable little baby bulldog from getting his fair share of the fun! While we can’t be sure if the puppy got himself into this mess, or if Mom posed him there for the adorable photo-op, regardless of the reasons behind the moment, all that really matters is the cuteness factor. Especially when you consider how comfortable and happy the little guy seems to be; in fact, it almost looks as if he might think he’s back in his mama dog’s belly.

This little puppy certainly is chowing down on the sweet treat, but it seems like he got a bit overexcited, because when the whole thing comes tumbling down, it seems like he’s finally had enough of it and is off to enjoy a nice, long afternoon nap.

It should be noted that while feeding your dog watermelon is great, make sure to pick out any of the seeds before you do!

Volunteer Pilots Fly Adoptable Pets To Safe Havens

There are so many amazing volunteer programs for animals out there, but not many can say most of their business is done thousands of feet in the air!

Pilots N Paws is a national nonprofit organization that provides adoptable animals with free transportation to new forever homes or safe havens.

The organization got its start in 2008 and today boasts over 5,000general aviation pilot volunteers, and it’s still growing. This is great news considering the number of requests the organization gets for transporting animals.

One of the program’s volunteer pilots, Jeff Bennett, has personally flown over 5,000 homeless animals to new, loving homes. And we’re not just talking about cats and dogs; the program has transported snakes, pigs, eagles, and even dolphins! Pilots N Pawsbelieves animals of all kinds deserve loving homes, much like this couple who has traveled the world with their pet pig.

Many volunteer organizations can say they haveunited animals with people that want them, but Pilots N Paws is able to widen the fieldof opportunity for adoption to take place on a much larger scale.

How far would you travel to provide an animal with a forever home? Let us know in the comments!

[H/T: The Dodo]

Click

Pilots N Paws is estimated to have flown over 100,000 animals to new homes since 2008. The organization is volunteer-only and it’s up to the pilots to decide where and when they want to fly.

Pilots schedule themselves on a web board where they choose which regions they’re willing to fly and how many miles they’re willing to put in.

Volunteer pilot, Jeff Bennett, told the Dodo, “I primarily work with one group in Alabama because they always fill my aircraft. I post it on Facebook that I’m making a transport on a particular day.”

Petmate, one of the organization’s sponsors, provides crates, safety harnesses, and other materials to make the flight as safe as possible for the animals. According to Bennett, however, the crates don’t always keep the animals sitting still.

“I’ve had two crates that were eaten by the dogs who were in them,” Bennett told the Dodo. “One kitten surprised me by escaping and sat on my shoulder.”

Any pilot working with this program will tell you the most rewarding part is knowing they’ve saved an animal from euthanasia, an abusive situation, or someother hardship in favorof a loving home or safe haven.

It’s not always just cats and dogs that get new homes from this program either.

One particularly interesting transport took place in Florida for Summer the dolphin. A baby pool was nestled into one of the planes before Summer was gently placed into the plane with her handlers. She’s now happy to be swimming in her new home, thanks to Pilots N Paws.

Bennett has plenty of experience transporting more exotic animals as well. He has worked with the Coast Guard in the past to help bring sea turtles from the Southeast to the Northeast due to dangerous temperature changes in the Atlantic Ocean.

Another pilot once transported a bear cub named Cinder. His paws were extremely burned from a wildfire that had occurred on the West Coast. The poor cub was found crawling on her arms and legs by a nearby homeowner.

Luckily, the Pilots N Paws program was able to fly the bear to a medical facility to receive treatment.

Volunteer pilots have also worked outside of the United States, assisting with transporting dogs who have been adopted by our soldiers overseas in Afghanistan. Imagine being involved in something so rewarding!

Since the FAA has given the organization the status of “humanitarian flights,” volunteer pilots are able to use portions of their flight expenses as a tax-deductible donation.

“I take a photograph of every animal I transport for the IRS,” Bennett told the Dodo.

Uniting pets with forever homes brings joy to everyone involved, and flying with such unique, precious cargo often ends up causing some hilarious situations.

“I’ve been laughed at by the tower,” Bennett explained to the Dodo. “You push the talk button andalot of times, dogs are barking.”

Pilots N Paws’Facebook page states that theirbiggest obstacle has been reaching out and letting general aviation pilots knowthey exist. Once pilots find out about the program, they’re usually more than willing to put in the flight time for such a great cause.

If you know anyone whowould be interested in flying for Pilots N Paws or would like to donate to their organization, visit their website!

Floki The Cat Meets Her Puppy Siblings For The Very First Time

Whoever came up with the idea that cats and dogs are sworn enemies probably never owned a cat or a dog. Sure, dogs can be a little energetic and cats can be somewhat easily annoyed, but isn’t that true of most human beings? With the right forgiving feline and polite pooch, cats and dogs can be a match made in furry heaven for each other and their humans who get to bask in the ensuing adorableness!

In the Atkinson family,Floki the cat thought she was the head honcho of the house. It was just her territory until her humans brought home a precious pair of puppies to join the family. The put the babies on the couch to get comfy while Floki scouts out the competition. At first, she’s rightfully a little nervous. Who are these creatures? Why are they so little andrambunctious? And when do I get to paw at their flappy tails?

The next thing you know, that fear turns into fun as she’s playing, pawing, and perhaps even petting (at 4:22) her new puppy sibling. She might not get all the attention anymore, but she knows when to take care of little ones, and it’s time to be responsible and care for another family member. They may not share much DNA, but they can share a happy home, and that means they’re family for life.

People Form A Human Chain To Save A Dog From Drowning

Sometimes our pets find themselves in situations they can’t escape, and need our help. Homeless pets are especially vulnerable to accidents when there is no one to care for them, but it doesn’t mean that ourfearlessdogs and cats at home don’t experience their fair share of misadventures.

One pup somehow made it down a slippery slope into rushing water, and couldn’t get out on his own. Luckily, a few caring humans saw the poor pup and decided to team up to help.

The clip starts with one man in the water with the dog, ensuring the animal’s safety. The rest of the onlookers are high up above, and come up with a plan: form a human chain to save both of them in one fell swoop.

It takes them a few attempts to get the human chain just right; after all, the slippery slope threatens to bring all of them crashing down into the water if they are not careful. But one by one, they inch closer to the man in the water, who grabs the dog, and easily drag them higher and higher up the slope. The rescue only lasts a couple of seconds, but the sheerstrength of these strangers is simply astounding!

Firefighters Pose With Puppies For Charity In Annual Calendar

Since 1993, the team behind the Firefighters Calendar in Australia has been doing photoshoots each year.

The photo series are compiled into calendars, whose sales profits usually go to theChildrens Hospital FoundationBurns Unit.

This year, they decided to change it up, and partnered with the RSPCA to raise awareness about caring and protecting for animals in need of a home.

All the firemen in the shoot posed with adorable little puppies on loan from the shelter, and made the whole thing look all the more fantastic and playful.

Of course, this isn’t the first time organizations have paired up with animals to make a statement or to support a higher cause.

Those of other professions haveposed with dogs in their own calendarsto raise awareness about animals in need of saving.

A Man Gets Buried Beneath A Litter Of Adorable Labrador Puppies

We all have fantasies.

My dad tells me all the time that when he was little, he used to imagine all sorts of pools filled with Jell-O, which he could dive into from a springboard. All flavors of Jell-O, all kinds of pools. In fact, he says he still hopes it will happen some day. It is, after all, 2016.

I used to have fantasies of being able to speak to my pets, and understand what they were saying to me. Well, once again, I still wish that I could do that.

There are some fantasies, though, that are much more attainable than others.

Another one of my fantasies is to play with dozens of puppies all at the same time. Cute, soft, happy puppies that would do nothing but love me and want me to rub their adorable little bellies.

This is a fantasy that’s totally attainable… and this man got to live it.

He sits with a litter of golden labrador puppies, and they’re already jumping all over him. They’re as energetic as can be, as well as adorable as humanly possible.

Then, he has no choice but to lie all the way on the ground. It’s almost like he disappears into a sea of puppies!

Just listen for what he’s saying underneath all of those canines. What do you think you would do if you could ever be in his position?

7-Week-Old Puppies Will Melt Your Heart With Their Cute Curiosity

Puppies are ridiculously precious, but their cuteness goes off the charts when they reveal their genuine curiosity of the world!

In a video posted by Vom Flussblick German Shepherd Pet Breeder on Facebook, a litter of 7-week-old German shepherds sit quietly and patiently together and tilt their heads, puzzled by the strange and funny human noises they hear.

The German shepherds huge, lovable ears (which they have yet to grow into) and adorable innocent eyes will melt your heart. With mixed shades of black and brown fur, each puppy oozes cuteness for the camera. While their head tilts arent in unison, it doesnt matter as each German shepherd is so adorable in their own way.

Weve seen the loving nature of dogs, including the father dog that tenderly licked the mother dog after she gave birth to a full litterand also, a cute litter of puppies that squealed as if they were singing their favorite song.

Oh my gosh, they are so precious!!! wrote Barbara Merideth Williamson on Facebook.

What are Vom Flussblick German Shepherd dogs?

Its a small hobby kennel in Augusta, MI where the dogs are from top quality working and show lines, according to the pet breeder who owns, handles, and trains them primarily in Schutzhund (tracking, obedience, and protection). However, the dogs excel in other venues of dog sport and training and make sound companions for active people. They are also family pets in addition to working dogs.

Real-Life Pet Detective Reunites Lost Pets And Their Owners

If you’ve ever lost a pet, you know how traumatic it can be. Your first instinct is to run after your furry pal, yelling his or hername. Sheilah Graham says this is the last thing you should do.

When Graham isn’t working her day job, she’s moonlighting as a volunteer pet detective and rescuer. She has over four years of experience tracking down lost pups, onethatwas even lost for two years!

Graham says the moment a pet is in unfamiliar territory, he or shegoes into survival mode. Even if you’ve had the pet for years, theymay not sit and stay when theyhear your voice.

So how does Graham successfully reunite so many pets with their owners? Perseverance, some cool equipment, and a lot of teamwork.

Graham gave LittleThings the inside scoop on some of her favorite rescue stories so we could share them with you!

Don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below.

Sheilah Graham

For over four years,Sheilah Graham has been helping desperate pet owners reunite with their furry friends. Graham was kind enough to speak with LittleThings about some of her favorite stories.

Sheilah Graham

“Bean got lost in Providence, RI. Her family plastered the area with flyers. Many sightings were called in and mapped as well,” Graham told LittleThings.

Graham was able to use the locations from the call-ins as clues, and utilized a trail camera to pin down the missing pup, but there was a problem.

Sheilah Graham

The people who were calling in had actuallyspottedthis dog, Hank. Hank had been missing for five months.

Sheilah Graham

But happily, Graham was able to safely trap Bean and his lookalike Hank within four days of one another!

Sheilah Graham

Thanks to Graham’s dedication, she was able to reunite the two dogs back with their happy and relieved owners.

Sheilah Graham

In February of 2015, Graham got another call about a particularly tough case. Graham refers to this pup as Murphy. She says everything that could’ve gone wrong during this investigation did go wrong, so she named him after Murphy’s Law.

Sheilah Graham

“Murphy was too quick and smart for a single trap, so we had to get inventive,” Graham told LittleThings.

With the help of two trail cameras, Graham had a live video feed of Murphy’s whereabouts.

Sheilah Graham

Graham hooked together two traps and put some dog food toward the back. It took 10 days before Murphy decided the coast was clear and went for the food. Murphy, the mischievouspup, was safely trapped and returned.

Sheilah Graham

Graham has even been able to assist dog owners with rescuing their pets over the phone. This pup, Brynn, was reunited with his owner after only eight days, but the pup’s best pal, Boz, escaped soon after.

Sheilah Graham

Since Brynn’s owner knew Graham was an expert from experience, she gave her a call to try to get some advice on getting Boz back. Over her lunch break, Graham was able to talk the dog owner through the process of getting Boz to come home!

Sheilah Graham

“Searches can be challenging, and you need to keep an open mind and be able to improvise at a moment’s notice,” Graham told LittleThings. “Trail cameras, video cameras, and other surveillance options allow one to monitor the area 24/7 and is a nonthreatening approach to understanding a lost dog.”

Sheilah Graham

Understanding that your pet has switched over to “survival mode” once it’s in an unfamiliar place is essential. Just because they don’t come when you call doesn’t mean they don’t want to come home they’re just frightened.

Sheilah Graham

“The bottom line is, I don’t care who brings the pup home safe, or who gets credit for it. HOME is what counts,” said Graham.

We think Graham certainly deserves a lot of credit for the time she dedicates to reuniting families with their pets.

Let us know what you think of Graham’s incredible work in the comments, and don’t forget toSHAREwith the dog owners in your life!

Her Puppies Were Stolen And She Lived In The Trash, But She Never Gave Up On Life

Every year, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter animal shelters across the United States.

Whether they’re left out in the cold or surrendered by humans who can’t take care of them, the fact remains that almost four million innocent dogs end up in shelters, and thousands more still need saving.

And these poor pups were of the latter variety. A four-legged mom and her puppy were living in a trash can when rescuers from Hope for Paws found them.

Most heartbreakingly of all, a few neighborhood kids had stolen all of her other puppies by that point. For that reason, she clung to the remaining baby for dear life.

Now all these beautiful girls need to do is find a new home, and we hope that they can stay together. If not, Zoe can at least take comfort in the fact that her little Meadow gets a second chance at life.

Father Dog Tenderly Licks Mom After She Gave Birth To Puppies

For anyone who thinks that animals can’t feel strong emotions like love and happiness, this video proves beyond a shadow of a doubt just how wrong that sentiment is!

After a pretty intense birth, this mama dog was completely exhausted. As her little puppies all squiggle and squeal for some milk, the only thing this poor mom can do is lie on her side and hope to fall asleep. Though her puppies all came out healthy, she can barely move.

But just when you’d start feeling sorry for this new mom, it’s worth waiting to see what Dad does! Softly and with obvious affection for his wife, he slowly licks at her face to help her feel more comfortable. As the babies all get something to eat, Mom and Dad get to share this beautiful and peaceful moment with each other.

It’s hard to believe that anyone could possibly think that dogs don’t feel love for one another, but after watching this video, it’s pretty hard to stick to that idea. This father clearly loves Mom, and will probably do anything to make sure she and his brand-new babies stay absolutely and completely safe. It really doesn’t get much more perfect than this.

Once Mom has gotten some rest, she (and her beautiful babies) will all be taken inside for a more comfortable place to sleep.

23 Guilty Pets Who Had Absolutely No Idea You’d Be Home So Soon…

If you’re a pet owner, you’ve probably wondered more than once what your furry ones do while you’re at work…

Are they sleeping away the day, maybe they’re getting into the food, or tearing up your magazines? Short of installing a security camera, we’ll likely never know. That is unless you’re one of these lucky folks who came home and caught their pets knee-deep in destruction.

They just weren’t expecting their parents home so early…and the look of incredible and hilarious guilt on their faces is priceless!

1. “Dinner’s on me, Mom.”

2. “I wasn’t grabbing your wallet. I swear.”

3. He’s not even sorry!

4. Looks like someone’s hungry!

5. Are these guys not getting fed?

6. “Come on in…the water’s perfect!”

7. Oh, Denver!

8. “Ummmmm, it’s not what it looks like.”

9. She’s trying to tell you she needs to use the bathroom.

10. “Oh. You’re home.”

11. “It’s more comfortable this way!”

12. That looks cozy.

13. *Just act natural.*

14. He looks guilty…but the cat? Yeah, he looks dead.

15. You suuuuure you didn’t get into the lipstick?

16. No, see, it’s supposed to go on your lips…not your paws, silly!

17. “There’s definitely nothing dead buried here.”

18. “What? Stacey said she needs cupcakes for her bake sale!”

19. If you’re innocent, why are you hiding?

20. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

21. “You know how much I love sashimi, Mom!”

21 Dogs Who Have Absolutely No Idea How To…Well, Dog

Some pups are practically professionals at fetching, playing tug-of-war, cuddling, and just all-around being good dogs. Then there are those…special pooches who just missed the memo — or, perhaps the whole intro course on how to act according to the dog rule book.

That doesn’t mean we love them any less — in fact, we might just love them more for their quirky ways!

1. Take this guy who has zero clue how to drink water.

2. This genius who can’t decide if he wants on or off the couch.

3. This little guy tried to fetch…a little too hard.

4. This pup has the whole fetch thing down, but the execution is all wrong.

5. Then there’s this dog who doesn’t care about your stupid Frisbee.

6. This pup who thinks playtime involves rocking horses.

7. This dog is too far gone.

8. This dog totally forgot about his species’ love for tennis balls.

9. And this dog just doesn’t understand that stairs aren’t for sleeping on.

10. At least he’s not like this one who just doesn’t do stairs, period.

11. What about this dog who doesn’t understand couches? Not. One. Bit.

12. Or this dog who is betraying his entire species.

13. And this one forgot that cats and dogs just don’t get along.

14. Then there’s this pup who forgot how to be a lap dog.

15. Or this little guy who doesn’t know how to enjoy a car ride.

16. This one forgot that heads go out the window…not through the headrest.

17. This dog who can’t dog door.

18. And this pooch completely forgot that belly rubs are best enjoyed lying down.

19. Then there’s this pup who defies all conventions by never wanting to go for a walk.

20. This one got outside but forgot how to walk.

21. This pup has no clue that he’s supposed to hate baths.

Maybe all these dogs were just assembled wrong? That might explain a thing or two…

Sneaky Squirrel Steals The Nuts From Right Under A Big Pups Nose!

Many people adopt dogs to serve as a protector of sorts for their home. Even the kindest, most gentle dogs will get a little rowdy when an unwanted visitor intrudes upon theirfamily’s territory. Dog are so loyal, they’ll go above and beyond to protect their human families.

Dogs have also been known to protect their people from dangers within their own homes, like this pup who warned his owners of a fire, and saved their lives. How incredible!

But there are other dogs who are a bit more trusting, and would rather go around the yard chasing squirrels than chasing after intruders.

This Great Dane, though? He’s not really all that interested in doing either.

As he relaxeson his comfy dog bed on the porch, something sneaks up the steps. The pup notices, but he honestly doesn’t really seem to care that much.

The little squirrel making his way onto the dog’s territory takes care to be as sneaky as possible, as if maybe, just maybe, this pup hasn’t spotted him yet.

Well, I’ve got news for this squirrel: this giant dog does, in fact, noticeyou. He just simply has more important things to think about, like dinner, or maybe his other comfy bed in the living room.

When the pooch finally lays eye on the thieving squirrel, though? You have to see for yourself.

An Old Dog Hilariously Avoids The Love Of A Tiny Baby

When you bring a new baby into a home with any dog, you’re going to have to get the two used to each other before you let them play together.

Sometimes dogs are incredibly kind, caring, gentle, and friendly with the new additions to the family. They immediately become the very best of friends, and never leave each other’s side.

Other times, though, your pup won’t be as friendly. In these cases, you need to very, very slowly introduce the baby to the dog until they warm up to each other. Sometimes, they’ll eventually become friends, as some pups are stubborn and resistant to change.

When this old pooch met the new baby in his household, he wasn’t rough or mean to him. However, he also wasn’t all too keen on him, either.

As the friendly, curious child crawls toward the cute pup, the dog seems pretty indifferent. When the kid gets too close, though? Clearly this child is not a natural born babysitter.

I know some people like this dog, don’t you? They’d rather just be left alone to their own devices, rather than be bothered by a drooling baby.

Maybe he was just having an off day, or maybe he really doesn’t like him. Either way, I’m sure this little one will find plenty of other animal friends in his years to come!

Dog Adorably Sneaks Up On His Young Owner To Tackle Him

Have you ever been caught off guard? It’s a terrifying feeling! I get startled at least five times a day! I’m very easy to sneak up on.

Most people hate being snuck up on. Their terror tends to outweigh the funny surprise. It’s usually only the prankster who enjoys it. But some people enjoy the fun! Like these little babies getting a bath who LOVED it when their daddy snuck into the bathroom. Not every surprise is a bad one!

This little boy was standing in a field, being videotaped by one of his parents when he was caught off guard. If you watch the grass behind him closely, you can see slight movement at first. But then he realizes something is happening behind him and when he turns to see what it is, he’s barrelled down.

Instead of it being a terrifying creature that knocked him over, it’s his dog! You can see the delight on the young boy’s face when he realizes this. He’s laughing loudly and when the camera pans to the pup, he looks very proud of himself.

Watch the video below and just imagine the ‘Jaws’ theme song playing in the background. It fits perfectly!

Don’t forget to SHARE this sneaky dog with all of your friends and family!

Mom Captures Adorable Moment Between Bulldog Puppy And Baby Human

There’s something special about the friendship between a baby human and a little puppy dog. And the result is absolute adorable videos like the one below!

It was a beautifully peaceful weekend afternoon when Mom came across this adorable sight. It seems like her little boy and his best friend in the whole world had both gotten themselves comfortable in the baby human’s little swing. These two best friends truly love each other, and when you look closely at their faces throughout the video, you’ll see just how much they enjoy each other’s company.

Mom asks her babies if they love each other, and while neither the baby nor the dog is able to answer just yet, something tells us we know exactly what the answer would be! These two are already the best of friends, and something tells us as they both get a little older they’re going to become even closer than they are today. This little boy has a best friend that he will cherish for the rest of his life.

Adorable Little Puppy Is Too Afraid Of The Water To Go For A Swim

One of the most amazing things about puppies is the fact that they’re just always learning something new and fun. Every single day is an adventure, every single smell is completely new to them, and every moment is filled with brand-new experiences.

While that’s true for any animal, it’s all about how puppies react to these new stimuli that’s so adorable. If a puppy doesn’t understand what they’re seeing or smelling, they’ll certainly let you know that there’s a problem! Just like the tiny Shiba Inu puppy in the video below, this little angel has a pretty big problem to deal with!

While she loves to drink a lot of water, it turns out that this little baby has never gone for a swim before. Her dad has a pretty nice setup for her, and she’s excited at first, but within a few moments, it turns out that this dog is not as brave as she initially thought she was.

She gives a few tentative barks to the water, but it seems like this little pool is still too big for her! Even with Dad nearby, this little dog isnotgoing in for a dip today. We’re sure after she’s grown up just a bit, she’ll be one of the strongest swimmers in the whole family!

Mama Pit Bull Loves These Adorable Baby Ducks Like Her Own Puppies

It’s a proven fact that dogs are natural caretakers, no matter the breed. Time and time again, we’ve seen dogs love and nurturetheir fellow canine, their humans, and even plenty of other kinds of animals. Some may show their love in a more stern way, but dogs still remain loyal and loving.

What has hurt them the most in terms of finding good homes has been stereotyping. Breeds like the pit bull and the Rottweiler have unfairly been given a violent and hateful reputationwhile other breeds are beloved, although there isn’t any real difference. Personally, I’ve never met a pit bull that wasn’t kind, gentle, and just in search of someone to play with and love them. They may have a more muscular frame, but that doesn’t mean they’re ready to pounce and use those muscles at any moment.

Breeds like pit bulls are victims to the poor homes they often get placed in,even though they’re just as loving as any other dog. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the video below.

Look at this vicious brute of a pit bull and how she treats these little ducklings. Isn’t it awful? Well, actually, it’s quite the opposite of what most people would expect. She showers the little ducks with kisses and behaves with nothing but the utmost care and love. This is a pit bull thatwas lucky enough to find a home that knew she could be just as sweet as any golden retriever or Labrador!

This Truth About Outdoor Dogs Will Make You Rethink Everything

When actor Justin Long lent his voice to a dog that was trapped in a tiny yard, we took notice. Although people don’t often bat an eyelash when someone says, “I have an outdoor dog,” most dogs that live outside lead painful lives.

While there are plenty of people out there who provide their outdoor dogs with adequate shelter and plenty of belly scratches, many dogs in similar situations suffer at the hands of neglect. Long’s narration provides chilling insight into the lives of dogs that want love and kindness, but receive nothing but heartbreak in return.

While situations like this one may not seem neglectful from up close, stepping back and taking a look at the day-to-day lives of these dogs paints a much less pleasant picture. So what are you waiting for, people? Go give your pup a hug!

21 Pets Who Are So, So Terrible At Hide-And-Seek, But We Still Love Them

As a kid, I remember rousing games of hide-and-seek. I thought I was so good. Turns out, every time I went to hide, I chose the same spot. Yeah, it’s safe to say that my parents and brothers caught on quickly and just humored me most of the time.

Our pets probably have the same thought about their “genius” hiding spots…

1. The effort is there.

2. Ah, the classic hiding-under-your-brother situation.

3. “Can you give me a shove?”

7. Really, it’s the enthusiasm that gave him up.

Golden Retriever Puppy Outsmarts His Big Brother In An Adorable Game Of Chase

We all know that dogs are incredibly intelligent animals. Sometimes, no, they don’t put their brains to the best use, but they sure do have them. Wehumans can be the same way sometimes… like when we know we should be having a healthy dinner, but pizza soundssomuch better.

But when pups do put their noggin to good use, some great things happen!Service dogs do a wonderful job making life easier for their human each and every day. Other pups save lives as part of search and rescue teams.

Some dogs simply learn some adorable tricks from their people because they know that they’ll get a yummy treat at the end of it.

Sometimes pups learn how to do things all on their own, like how to open the cabinet door where you keep the treats or the garbage. That’s not so great… but when this little golden retriever pup shows off how smart he is all on his own? It’s too adorable.

He and his older brother play a game of race and chase around the coffee table. While his little legs put him at a disadvantage, he’s got that big brain of his to make up for it. Just watch when he figures out exactly what he needs to do to win this game!

Adorable Dog Works Up The Confidence To Walk Inside Again After Bumping His Head

Life will always have its ups and downs. Just when things seem to be going perfectly, it appears there will always be something that will try its best to get in the way of happiness. While it might be easy to feel bad for yourself, possibly even wanting to give up on your dreams, it’s very important to forgeahead and never let anything beat you down too much.

Meet Buddy. He’s a very special and beautiful retriever thatusedto have everything easy in his life. Buddy always loved to play outside in the backyard, and whenever he was finished, he would run right back into the house to be loved by his human. But on a day like any other, Buddy was running into the house when he suddenly felt a horrible pain in his head. It turns out that mom had closed the sliding glass door, not realizing that Buddy was going to want to come in so quickly. He bumped his head and instantly felt the pain!

Mom opened the door and brought Buddy in. She gave him plenty of treats and love, but the damage was done. Buddy couldnevertrust that sliding glass door ever again! He’ll never be able to tell whether or not it’s open.

Mom caught Buddy slowly walking into the house until one day she decided to record it to share with her friends just how nervous her dog was nowadays! Even when she tried to give him treats, Buddy went at his own speed. After a lot of slow-pawing actions, he finally got the confidence to walk in all by himself!

It took him a week or so to gain his confidence back, but these days you can find him running again! Hopefully mom will just keep the door open from now on!

Security Camera Footage Shows Why You Can Never Be Too Careful When Leaving Pets Alone

Every pet owner knows that feeling when you leave the house: Is my fur baby going to be alright on his own? You’re always wondering if today’s the day that he’s going to get into some electrical wires behind the TV, or somehow learn how to turn the oven on.

While learning how to work your stove ishighlyunlikely, I’m sure you’ve had similar thoughts. Our pets are smarter than we sometimes give them credit for. And where there’s a will, there is likely a way.

While we all hope that our pups and other pets will use their smarts to follow commands or do sweet tricks, that’s not always the case. Sometimes our pets go rogueand follow their own rules. I’m sure a good handful of you have come home to a kitchen just completely covered in trash.

Sometimes, though, you think you’re doing everything right. You’ve locked the cabinet that opens to the trash, you’ve hidden all electrical wires in tubes, and you’ve hidden all of your valuable items away in storage. But your pet still manages to put himself in danger.

This pup was left alone with a tall first story window cracked open. The owners never thought that their pooch would try to escape… but when they got home and checked the security footage? This will make your heart drop.

This is a shocking reminder to make sure that your home is safe for your pet! Thankfully this pooch was unharmed, but it could have ended differently.

Seals Are Actually Ocean Puppies (15+ Pics)

Although dogs and cats live on land and both are easily domesticated, dogs actually have more in common with sea-dwelling mammals than they do with their furry foes. Canines share a lot of similar characteristics with seals for example, mainly because the two are considered Caniformes (which literally means “dog-like”) and come from the same suborder of Carnivorans (unlike cats, which are Feliformes).

This genetic link perfectly explains why seals are often known as the puppies of the ocean. Don’t believe us? Then take a look at the list below compiled by Bored Panda. Only one mystery remains: if dogs have so much in common with seals, why do so many of them still hate baths?

Pet Peeves: Seven Human Habits Dogs Cant Stand

If you know a dog, then youre already aware that they are some of the most loving and loyal animals on the planet.

Dogs will stick by their people through thick and thin, and are known for showing their love in dozens of different ways, from simply giving you puppy kisses to saving their owners lives.

Dogs, we can all agree, are heroic, charming, and wonderful. That said, what you might not realize is that they are polite, to a fault.

It might sound like an odd claim, considering we are talking about animals who will happily scarf down a whole Thanksgiving dinner if your back is turned, but dogs are very politeabout certain things, mostly about being very tolerant when humans do things they dont like.

Thats why were here to talk about all of the pet peeves that dogs are too courteous to tell you about.

Read on below to learn which common human habits annoy dogs the most.

Your Dog Loves You, But…

Your

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Your pup knows that you’re her family.

She loves you to the ends of the earth and back again, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t occasionally get on her nerves.

It’s just like any other close relationship; most of the time, she adores you, but you have a few bad habits that just tweak her tail.

Pooch Pet Peeve #1: You Hug Too Hard

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Humans love to hug, cuddle, and nuzzle, but dogs aren’t such big fans.

A recent study published in the New York Times showed that 82% of dogs being hugged in photos show signs of stress.

That doesn’t mean your dog resents every time you hug her, it just means that she tolerates it for your sake, but would really rather not.

Just like atoddler might get fussy after too much attention, your pooch wouldprefer to cuddle without the confinement of your arms around her.

Pooch Pet Peeve #2: You Use Your Words

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Normally, using your words is considered a good thing, especially when it comes to interpersonal interactions.

With your dog, however, it mostly just leaves her mystified and confused, and annoyed that she can’t pick up what you’re putting down.

Your dog likes hearing a soothing voice talking to her, butshe doesn’t understand praise or admonishmentwhen it just comes to her as words.

Make sure to add some tone, gestures, or pettingto help her understand and feel like she’s doing a good job obeying.

Pooch Pet Peeve #3: Youre In A Rush

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

There are going to be days in every dog-owner’s life where you just aren’t in the mood to take your pooch for a walk, but you have to anyway.

It’s okay to have those days from time to time, but try not to let your dog know.

Her walk is her daily adventure and a reward for behaving well; she should look forward to it!

Take care to give her a moment to sniff at interesting spots to keep her happy and fulfilled by the exercise.

Pooch Pet Peeve #4: Youre In Your Own Head

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

As we mentioned earlier, dogs love their humans dearly.

If you’re spending your time focusing entirely on your own thing, your pup might start to feel lonely and bored, which can lead to bad habits.

There are definitely times when you both want your space, but if she’s really begging to play, either gently and firmly tell her no and give her a puzzle toy to play with, or take a break from your own projectto throw her a bone, literally!

Pooch Pet Peeve #5: You Don’t Give Her Space

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Lots of peoplethink of dogs as their babies.

There’s nothing wrong with doting on your pup a bit, but don’t pick her up off the ground too often.

Just like a human baby grows up and wants to be independent, dogs should be comfortably running around on their own four feet.

If you hold her all the time, she’ll either get cranky with you, or grow dependent, timid, and a bit spoiled.

Pooch Pet Peeve #6: You Tease Too Much

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Nobody likes being teased, and that includes pooches big and small.

If you’re going to play tug-of-war, it’s important to do it right, and make sure that your dog knows the rules and isn’t too aggressive.

By the same token, you can’t dangle a toy over her head or tease her with a treat, and then not reward her.

If she doesn’t win sometimes, it will stop feeling like play to her, and feel more like a punishment or an aggressive competition instead.

Pooch Pet Peeve #7: You Push Her Into Playdates

Pooch

Tayra Lucero for LittleThings

Just like people, dogs have social groups, friends, and, of course, frenemies.

When your dog truly enjoys the company of another dog, you’ll know because they’ll play happily together.

If she seems disinterested in the other pup, she might prefer different company, even if the other pup’s owner happens to beyour bestie

If you observe that she seems bored or, worse, aggressive, don’t push the friendship; let her find other friendsorganically and hang with your own pals without the pups.
