10+ Times Golden Retriever Puppies Were The Purest Thing In The World

Golden Retrievers are one of the most pure things on Earth. I mean, everyone knows they’re super friendly, they love everyone, and they’re ohhh-sooo-adorable. So, what could be better than a pic of a Golden Retriever, one may ask? Well, of course – only a picture of a retriever puppy…

Bored Panda has made a compilation of photos showing Goldies when they’re still little pups. Are you an owner of a Golden Retriever puppy? Don’t keep all that cuteness to yourself – upload a photo below and shared it with fellow BP readers.

James Corden gave out ‘consolation puppies’ at the Grammys

Yes Seinfeld gets a puppy. As if just being Seinfeld isn't reward enough.

Okay, so instead of a prestigious award they got a puppy.

At the Grammys on Sunday, host James Corden didn’t just dish out those little golden gramophones. “Consolation puppies” were handed out to nominees who didn’t win their category.

Jerry Seinfeld (who was nominated for Best Comedy Album) was given a puppy called Roxy and Corden described her as “a biter”.

Many were happy to see the pups at the event.

But not everyone was so thrilled about living dogs being handed out as prizes.

Mashable reached out Grammys to find out where the puppies were sourced and what happened to them after the ceremony but they were unavailable for comment. We will update the story accordingly when we receive a response.

These 40 Seconds Of One Puppy Helping Another Will Melt Your Heart

The Beatles were probably talking about this little dynamic duo when they penned the lyrics, “I get by with a little help from my friends.”

Okay, so maybe not, but they should have been!

When three-month-old Moo Ping saw that his best bud Khao Neaw was struggling to join him on his cushy bed, he got right to work. You see, the one-month-old girl wasn’t big enough to make the little leap, so Moo Ping hopped off and gave her a boost.

What a great guy! Now, snuggle up and enjoy your nap…

Puppies rescued from barn fire, treated with oxygen from pet masks

These two-day-old puppies were pulled from a burning barn on Monday.

LONDON Firefighters were forced to use miniature pet oxygen masks to treat two puppies rescued from a burning barn in Devon, UK, on Monday.

In a post on Facebook, Newton Abbot Fire Station shared photos of the dogs being treated with gel and oxygen after rescue services arrived at the scene in the early afternoon.

Here are some pictures taken by firefighters at the scene.

Firefighters administer oxygen to the puppies.

The masks fit over the puppy’s heads to help them take in the air.

One puppy, which suffered burns, was treated with gel.

There were five puppies in the barn when the fire took hold. Three died at the scene.

The two dogs pictured in the photos above were treated by firefighters and then taken to the vets. Sadly, a spokesperson from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service confirmed to Mashable that one of the rescued puppies has since died.

“They weren’t bad burns but was in a wide area and was just too much for such a little puppy,” the owner of the farm, James Barter, was quoted as saying in the Torquay Herald Express. “I think of myself as fairly tough but I was pretty upset.”

He went on to say that the surviving puppy seems to be doing fine.

“We have named it Blaze in honour of its miraculous survival,” he said.

Kim Kardashian picked an interesting time to adopt two identical puppies

Kim sees your human twins, Bey, and raises you two puppies.
Image: GC Images

Look, we’re not saying there’s any wrong time to announce that you’ve brought two literal snowballs into the family, but right after news that Beyonc’s twins were born is an interesting choice.

Especially if, like Kim Kardashian, you’re rumored to have some bad blood with Queen Bey. And yet, here’s Kim K (who has often expressed disinterest in pets because they’re filthy) posting pictures of puppies on Twitter when everyone’s freaking about about the Jay Z and Beyonc’s twins.

Girl. Girl. Girl.

As the great philosopher Kanye West posited on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, “Are they called Pomeranians because they fit in the palm of your hand?”

One apparently belongs to Penelope, North’s cousin/bestie and the daughter of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick.

Anyway, maybe it’s a coincidence! Maybe it has nothing to do with Bey giving birth right around North West’s birthday. Are celebrities petty? Unclear.

What we do know is that these puppies are extremely cute, Bey and Jay’s twins are extremely cute, and there’s a persistent rumor that Kanye West and Jay Z aren’t as tight anymore because Bey allegedly doesn’t care for Kim.

Hey, Kimye, we don’t blame you. We’d be hurt, too, if Beyonc posted a selfie from across the globe during our wedding that she declined to show up to. And again, those puppies are exquisite. Everyone wins.

These Puppies On Swing Sets Will Make You Wish You Were A Kid Again

Compared to the long workdays and endless errand-running of human life, we tend to think our pups are pretty pampered. But with all of that pressure on their paws from taking long walks, and the stress that comes along with waiting to be fed, even our dogs deserve to put their feet up every once in a while. Next time you’re at the park with your pooch, why not help them take a load off and swing the day away? The pooches in the video below love it! Click play and get ready to watch the cutest thing you’ll see all day.

Those French bulldogs swinging together made me squee! Plus, that husky with two-toned eyes was so pretty.

Adoptable puppies get even more adoptable when Aubrey Plaza makes up their backstories

Puppies plus late night television is always the recipe for a great video.

On Thursday night’s Late Show, Stephen Colbert decided to help some cute puppers out by airing a segment called Rescue Dog Rescue with Aubrey Plaza. The two took turns cradling adoptable puppies and fabricating ridiculous personalities for them so as to make them more attractive to potential owners.

Honestly, we don’t need funny backstories to love these pups. Just one glimpse at their tiny faces will do. But laughing while we awww is always a welcome addition.

Stampede Of Golden Retriever Puppies Tumble Down A Slide And Right Into Our Hearts

Training puppies can be hard work. Extremely adorable hard work. Especially when they’re fluffy, wriggly golden retriever puppies.

As a way to help socialize them, this litter of of golden puppies at Enchanted Retrievers are given an obstacle to tackle before their feeding time. The result is one adorable stampede that comes to a momentary halt as the puppies take turns going down a slide. Some even need a friendly nudge to make it to the bottom in time for dinner.

I just love how brave the first little puppy is. Diving head-first towards that delicious food bowl.

Puzzled Puppy Has No Freakin’ Clue Where The Rain Is Coming From

“What. Da. Eff. Iz. Dat.” — This bulldog.

Shelby, an English bulldog puppy, recently encountered rain for the first time and as you may imagine, she was very confused. Lucky for us, her preciously puzzled reaction was caught on camera and uploaded to YouTube

Just watch as Shelby, who was 13 weeks old at the time the video was shot, looks around accusingly in different directions, as though she’s trying to find the source of the rain. The culprit proves preeetty tough to find.

One day, pooch, you’ll learn to love the rain and dance and splash in puddles. But for now, you’re allowed to be baffled. Because confusion has never looked quite so cute.

Three puppies found safe after five days stuck under avalanche

Rescuers hold three puppies that were found alive in the rubble of the avalanche-hit Hotel Rigopiano, near Farindola, central Italy.

Amid the desperation surrounding avalanche-struck Hotel Rigopiano in central Italy, there is hope.

Three Abruzzo sheepdog puppies were pulled out of the tonnes of snow and rubble Monday, encouraging rescuers searching for 22 people still missing, five days on from the disaster.

The trio of puppies were found in the hotel’s boiler room, with jubilant emergency crews carrying the pups in their arms.

One firefighter buried his face in the fluffy white fur of the dogs to give it a kiss.

“They just started barking very softly,” said Sonia Marini, a member of the Forestry Corps.

Image: Italian Firefighters via AP

“In fact, it was hard to find them right away because they were hidden. Then we heard this very tiny bark and we saw them from a little hole the firefighters had opened in the wall. Then we expanded the hole and we pulled them out.”

Image: Alessandro Di Meo/ANSA via AP

The pups were born to the hotel’s resident sheepdogs, Nuvola and Lupo, who had managed to find their own way out following the avalanche last Wednesday.

While the sight of the puppies have lifted rescuers’ spirits, firefighter spokesperson Luca Cari stressed these puppies were found in an isolated part of the hotel and the discovery isn’t necessarily a positive sign for other rescues.

“We’re happy to have saved them, and these are important moments in a dramatic situation,” he said. “But I don’t think there’s much correlation with finding other people.”

The Associated Press contributed reporting.

Someone Cemented Puppies Inside A Fish Tank And Left Them To Die

Two puppies were found cemented inside a glass fish tank that was dumped on the bank of a Mississippi creek.

Matt Williamson stumbled upon the black-and-white pups as he searched for his own lost dog in Hinds County, 16 WAPT News Jackson reported Thursday.

The tank’s lid was cemented shut, meaning that the dogs could have either ended up suffocating due to a lack of air or drowning if the tank had filled up with water.

“As I got closer, I saw these eyes peering out at me and they looked pretty desolate, like they needed help,” Williamson told the station.

“They were put in here to drown. They wanted these puppies to drown in here,” he added.

It’s not clear if Williamson ended up finding his own missing pooch.

Hinds County Sheriff’s deputies freed the young dogs, which were then taken to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League. Director Debra Boswell described the dogs as being “a little feral and not used to human handling.”

The pups were running a fever and are now being kept in isolation, but should be available for adoption if found to be in good health, Boswell said. Deputies are investigating the incident.

Why Adorable Puppies Can Make You Feel Violent

Cute aggression is a particularly strange phenomenon. When we see something so cute, or even think about it like a baby kitten, stumbling across the floor we first experience a tsunami of positivity, an overwhelming accumulation of fuzzy happiness. Then, somewhat perplexingly, this feeling sometimes coexists with the urge to squeeze the kitten to death. This effect is recognized by scientists, and a study published earlier this year in the journal Psychological Science explains that this secondary, negative response may be trying to counteract the out-of-control positive one.

The research group from Yale University coined the term cute aggression, and it is thought to belong to one of a series of paradoxical combinations of positive and negative emotions, which also include nervous laughter or tears of joy. These are known as dimorphous expressions.

Cute aggression was first scientifically documented by Rebecca Dyer and Oriana Aragon in 2012. In their experiment 109 participants were asked to hold bubble wrap as a slideshow of animals with funny, cute or neutralexpressions was shown. Although an uptick in bubble popping was expected for the cute animals, the researchers found that the participants went a little bonkers, popping far more bubbles than the other two groups.

Interestingly enough, this feeling is amplified when the cute animals in question arent physically accessible. The same effect applies to pictures of babies, with further studies indicating that the younger and cuter the babies look, the greater the urge of the participants to experience both a positive emotion explaining how they want to look after it and an aggressive feeling, describing the urge to want to pinch its cheeks.

Image credit: We can’t handle this. ANURAK PONGPATIMET/Shutterstock

For the latest study, several hundred participants were initially asked about a variety of dimorphous expressions, involving both cute (seeing baby kittens) and non-cute stimuli (crying during a piece of happy music), and asked to record how powerful each emotion was during these types of events.

For example, the participants had to decide whether or not they were the type of person that upon seeing something cute they often clenched their hands into fists. This allowed the researchers to produce a numerical scale of dimorphous expression. The study then gave participants the baby test, which again showed that more infantile babies produced the most extreme cute aggressive response.

A puzzle unrelated to cute babies was then undertaken by the participants, before they took the baby test again. Although the same cute aggression effect was seen, those that initially showed the most aggression also showed the greatest immediate post-exposure decline in positive emotions. Essentially, those with the more aggressive response were able to more rapidly counteract their overwhelming positive emotional cascade.

But why would anyone want to temper this explosion of happiness? The authors think that the negative emotion is designed to support the immediate well-being of the [participant]. Any emotional spike uses up considerable energy, so our brains have to be able to regulate their own emotional responses.

Anna Brooks, a senior lecturer in cognitive neuroscience from Southern Cross University, told Vice that The ability to regulate one’s strength of emotional response is highly adaptive: It stops us from investing too much energy into things.

So if you see a puppy and want to squash it to pieces, dont worry, youre perfectly normal its just your brain trying to stop itself exploding.

We aspire to be as happy as this little girl with a group of puppies

One young girl bravely defended herself against the gentle forces of cute from seven furry puppies and their tiny wet kisses. But sadly, in the end, she lost the adorable battle.

Proud mom Emily Rook shared an adorable photo of her 8-year-old daughter Sofia, cuddling with a band of precious pups at their local animal shelter.

Rook, an animal care technician, told Mashable that the picture was taken at the Humane Society of Washington County in Maryland.

“The shelter was founded in 1921 and continues to care for a wide variety of domestic animals to this day,” CEO Kim Intino told Mashable. “Ms. Rook, upon supervisor permission, brought Sofia to help out during a bring your daughter to work day.”

According to Rook, little Sofia accompanied her to work at the shelter to help feed and offer company to the animals before they were adopted.

“This is not typical since the official age to volunteer is 12,” Rook told Mashable. “Sofia helps me with the fosters we take in.”

Rook and Sofia have been fostering four-legged friends for more than four years and currently host 10 foster animals, many of which have come from neglectful and abusive homes or shelters.

Image: emily rook

Sofia’s love for animals prompted her to take on different roles in caring for her furry friends, including feeding kittens and playing with animals in need of socialization and rehabilitation.

“She is truly an animal whisperer and connects with them in a way that still amazes me,” said Rook.

According to Rook, Sofia’s plans for the future have animal care written all over it.

“Sofia wants to always foster animals that need help and would like to work in the shelter environment when she gets older after getting a veterinarian degree,” Rook said.

We certainly have no doubt this little hero will do great things.

Little Boy Can’t Hold Back The Tears After Meeting A Tiny Chihuahua Puppy

Sometimes puppies can be so overwhelmingly cute and sweet you could just cry. At least, that’s how this little boy feels.

Sweet Zayden was already bursting with excitement when Mom took him to the pet store, but as soon as he got to hold a Chihuahua puppy, he was so completely overcome with emotion that tears of joy started pouring down his cheeks. So heartwarming!

My heart melted when his response to his mom asking, “What’s wrong?” was “She’s just beautiful.” I’m sure these two new friends will be so happy together.

Mama Dog Reunites With Her Puppies In Heartwarming Video

OMG! My babies! My babies! All my babies are here!

If this ecstatic mama dog could speak, those would probably be the words she’d have said when she saw her puppies after an anxiety-filled separation.

A video of the dog’s reunion with her babies was shared online by the Marin Humane Society this week. The Bay Area group explained that the dog, named Cora, was surrendered by her owner on Saturday. After an examination, it became clear that Cora had recently given birth.

The Humane Society told SFGate that Cora’s former owner was “evasive and unwilling to admit” that the dog had had any puppies. Eventually, however, the group managed to convince the owner to surrender the four pups, who were still too young to be separated from their mom.

Prior to the reunion on Monday, Cora had been skittish and “frightened.” The dog’s transformation at the sight of her puppies was captured on camera.

At the beginning of the video, Cora can be seen standing timidly in a corner. Once she realized that her puppies were there, she rushed forward to greet them, her tail wagging with delight.

“We captured the moment when sad and scared mom got to see her puppies again. Tears of joy all around at this happy reunion,” the Marin Humane Society wrote on Facebook.

According to SFGate, the puppies were all named after Downton Abbey characters. The three male pups became Branson, Carson and Molesley while the female was named Edith. (“Cora” is also a character on the popular TV show.)

The Marin Humane Society said Cora and her puppies were all doing very well. They’ve been placed in a foster home, and will eventually be put up for adoption.

Maternity Photoshoot Dog Just Gave Birth To 5 Super Cute Puppies

Remember Lilica, the sensational dog from her maternity photo shoot? Well, the next day after the fabulous shoot she gave birth to 5 awfully cute puppies. Even better, the proud mom was happy to show them off to Brazilian photographer Ana Paula Grillo, who recently captured them in all their puppiness.

Grillo told Bored Panda that the litter includes 4 males and 1 female. The photographer also added that all the babies have already been adopted among Lilica owner’s family members. But way too many puppies and kittens don’t find their forever homes and end up as unwanted strays. Adopt animals, don’t buy them.

Remember Lilica, the sensational dog from her maternity photo shoot?

Thank you, Ana Paula Grillo, for talking to Bored Panda about your wonderful photo shoot!
