Awkward half-cat loafing on the stairs sparks Photoshop battle no one expected

Image: reddit, catcatdogcat

The Internet will never tire of the strange beauty of an awkwardly placed cat.

This poor feline who is stuck on the stairs, somewhere between a comfy cat-loaf position and actually being able to stand is a perfect example.

Poor cat.

Image: reddit, catcatdogcat

We’re sure the cute kitty was able to find a way to another part of the house, but not before a picture was taken for the Internet’s amusement and so Redditors could photoshop it to their hearts’ content.

You made it weird, Internet.

Good guy dad used putty to save this turtle’s life

A turtle’s shell is essential to their protection. A damaged shell makes the creature vulnerable, and can even sometimes be fatal.

Luckily, there are heroes that care about the wellbeing of our scaly friends, like this Reddit user’s father.

On Monday, Daniel Hollenback who goes by the username Sublimebro uploaded photos to Reddit of a turtle whose injuries were healed thanks to his father’s efforts. The tiny turtle came back a year later looking better than ever.

Adorably, the Reddit user’s father presumably the above mentioned Ken marked a “Ken’s Body Shop” on the putty patch.

Although Ken’s writing didn’t survive, the turtle thankfully did, and people made car repair jokes about it.

Most importantly, Hollenback’s father handled the situation just like an animal lover should.

This dad apparently has a history of performing heroic animal deeds. Hollenback uploaded a video of his father playing with a raccoon that they rescued from their attic with the intention to relocate.

Faith in humanity and animals has been restored.

This dude has a squirrel still living in his Christmas tree

There are plenty of reasons to delay taking down your Christmas decorations, but this might be the cutest one yet.

Redditor carefree_dude posted this adorable pic to the Pics subreddit with the cheeky caption, “There is STILL a squirrel living in my Christmas tree.”

It appears the little fella has been there for some time.

carefree_dude/Reddit

Some redditors mused that they’d be alarmed to find an intruder in their home. But this is no errant critter. A quick dive into carefree_dude’s Reddit history reveals that the squirrel was rescued about a month ago.

Here’s the little fella, whose name is Mittens, working away at the last of his breakfast.

carefree_dude/Reddit

Mittens isn’t the only furry friend in carefree_dude’s household. He told the Daily Dot, “We have quite the zoo in our house, including a dog, 4 cats, fish, 14 chickens, and a turtle. The cats just ignore him. The fish and turtle are indifferent, and the dog is kept away from him for safety reasons.”

It certainly looks like Mittens is being kept safe and cozy.

If he were our pal, we might never get around to taking down the tree.

There is nothing more relatable than this squirrel eating a hot Cheeto

Image: reddit,  Thereconraccoon

Squirrels: They’re just like us.

On a sunny afternoon, there’s one snack you can’t help but crave. This squirrel was dying for a mid-day snack, and of course he reached for the nearest hot Cheeto to quell his appetite.

The editing experts on the subreddit r/PhotoshopBattles agree that this squirrel is all of us and naturally they chose to honor him with his own battle.

What’s next for this squirrel after he finishes his spicy snack? Perhaps a few hours of playing Call of Duty or a Star Wars movie marathon. Maybe a nap.

This is the life we all want to lead.

Cats That Cant Believe Its Christmas

Our feline friends never cease to amaze with their wonderment, curiosity and priceless facial expressions. In fact, two recent and highly popular posts on reddit involved cats in awe of Christmas (here and here).

The always entertaining comments section led me to four additional cats reacting to Christmas and here we are. See below for said cats and bask in their amazement of the most wonderful time of year.

Finally, a jack-o’-lantern that celebrates cat butts

Not all pumpkins are symmetrically round or unblemished.

So, sometimes when carving, you’ll cut out the spots that make the pumpkin unique.

However, this ingenious designer (and presumable cat butt fan) used the pumpkin’s originality as an advantage.

Behold: the glorious cat butt jack-o’-lantern.

Image: reddit/bisoninthefreezer

Posted by bisoninthefreezer on Reddit, this is a Halloween wonder dreamed up by their unnamed friend, though the artist certainly has a future carving what would be a great series of cat butt pumpkins.

We’re thankful this has been brought to our attention so early in the month. Now, we have plenty of time to attempt to recreate this before Oct. 31.

Dad constructs his very own selfie stick to take pictures of birds in a tree

Dad inventions never cease to amaze.

After one very resourceful father wanted to get a closer look at a bird’s nest in a tree, he did what most dads would do made a selfie stick.

Reddit userQginchronicled their father’s surprisingly successful attempt at constructing a selfie stick out of a car window washer, some crumpled napkins, masking tape and his iPhone 6 plus.

According toQgin, dad would not reveal theselfiestick’s purpose until they wereoutside and he was able to demonstrate.

In true dad fashion, he proudly displayed the finished product (along with an Ant-Man shirt) to pose for a photo op, and then got to work.

Qgin explained that he carefully raised the selfie stick up into a tree and set the timer for 10 seconds.

While the process initially seemed questionable, the results were a success anddad managed to capture some pretty impressive photographs of four baby birds in their nest.

Qgin captioned the last photograph, “As funny as it was, it was still pretty dope. My pops, will never cease to amaze me.”

Way to go, dad.
